Squid also features a piper who not only knows his instrument but is the front man, has a wry sense of humour, and has some true physical abilities. The combination of bag pipes and drum corps sounds great. I didn't include their version of Sleepy Maggie in the video for the sake of time, but it definitely rocked.
The video is a straight up performance video, no special effects required from me. For sake of time/file size I kept it to two numbers. The first song is a Stomp-like rocker where the three drummers have some fun with bar stools. As Squid said: "We know are our way around a bar stool"
The second number was their closer. Piper said: "Hang around and you'll see me do something unusual and potentially dangerous while piping" I'll let you judge. It was pretty cool.

No that's not something I've seen at any show or cailie, or scottish clan dance to be sure. I was a wee bit worried when the piper with the kilt started doing ground spinning as did I want to see what is under the scottish kilt traditionally? But he pulled it off. The guys with the bar stools were very good but I liked how they kept extra drum sticks in thier back pocket so as not to interrupt the routine in case as happens in live performances little things happen. I enjoyed the video very much and was like getting out and watching them only I did have to go all the way to Toronto.
Like you, Beth, I was not anxious to see what the answer was to "what do they have on under thier kilt" Collette however was .. interested
I am going to try to post a video of the Toronto Aerial ballet. I think you will enjoy that one, particularly their version of a pas de deux ...
